NBC Los Angeles & Telemundo 52
NBCUniversal Internship Program
The offices of NBC Los Angeles and Telemundo 52, nestled right next to the Universal Studios Lot, were the backdrop of my first professional experience — a reality I still cannot believe was mine. I was a part of NBCUniversal’s first-ever Academic Year Internship Program. I spent eight months as a digital news and social media intern, writing, producing and editing in both English and Spanish. It was here that I discovered my love for social media content production — one that would take me to Cooperstown mere months later.
I worked under several senior and associate producers, each of which have given me some of my most valuable lessons in journalism. I wrote and translated stories in English and Spanish, cut broadcast segments for NBCLA and Telemundo 52’s YouTube Channels (complete with SEO-friendly titles and descriptions), converted broadcast scripts into digital articles, produced Instagram videos, conducted interviews and more.
My experience at NBCUniversal only confirmed that my heart’s truest desire is to remain in a journalistic field, and I feel privileged for it to have been my introduction to the professional media space. Scroll through the photos below for some of my favorite moments — from my first byline to hosting Winter Olympians at the Universal Studios Lot!
